is situated along the dry Swakop riverbed, 12 km outside Swakopmund.
Desert Hiking Trails
We at Okakambe Trails wish to bring the living desert with all its
beauty and space a bit closer to you, on foot one can experience
some of the deserts wildlife, which will never be seen from a driving
car. The desert offers a diversity of terrains, which can vary from
dunes to sand and rocky plains to mountains and dry riverbeds. We
do offer three different three-day hiking trails as well as a five-day
hiking trail for very fit hikers to choose from.
Desert Horse Trails
Okakambe Trails offers tourist out-rides on these well-trained horses
into the Namib-Naukluft desert and plains. Several trails lead through
the dry riverbed among unique fauna and flora, past small water
pools and into the moon-landscape. This can be a wonderful experience
even for the inexperienced rider
