Epako, a Herero word meaning the corner in a mountain range, is
an upmarket luxury game lodge offering its guests an unparalleled
African experience. Situated approximateley 270 k north of Windhoek
and 22 km north-east of Omaruru on the Kalkfeld road, the lodge
nestles against a hillside overlooking the Epako River. There are
several waterholes in close proximity, one of which is illuminated
at night. Epako's 11 000 ha of dense African bush harbours a wide
variety of animals and bird species.
Accommodation at Epako consists of 24 luxuriously furnished double
bedroom units, all with bathroom en suite , telephones and air-conditiuoning
and a mini-bar in every room. Satellite television can be viewed
from the bar. A sumptious buffet-style breakfast starts the day.
Lunch is light and tasty, served at pool side or in the air-conditioned
dining room, while dinner is served either inside or at a leisurely
